In February, Henri Crockett became the Orange Bowl Committee’s 87th president and chair, and the first Orange Bowl alum to take on the role.

A dedicated philanthropist and former collegiate and professional football player, Mr. Crockett said he is carrying on the nonprofit’s legacy and commitment to creating life-changing opportunities for the youth it serves through sports, education, and mentorship.

As the committee’s new president and chair, he will support the Orange Bowl Committee’s commitment to the South Florida community, including a full slate of events highlighted by the 2026 College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl on Jan. 1, 2026, at Hard Rock Stadium. The Orange Bowl Committee will also play a key role in hosting the 2026 CFP National Championship Game on Jan. 19, 2026, in its leadership role with the 2026 CFPNCG Miami Host Committee.

A native of Pompano Beach, Mr. Crockett earned an athletic scholarship to Florida State University, where he was part of the Seminoles’ ACC Championship teams from 1993 to 1997. He was a key member of the Seminoles’ national championship team, which defeated the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the 1994 Orange Bowl. This accomplishment marks history as the first former Orange Bowl player to hold the position of president.

In 1997, Mr. Crockett was drafted in the fourth round of the NFL Draft and played professional football for seven seasons, including five with the Atlanta Falcons and two with the Minnesota Vikings. He was a starting linebacker for the Falcons in Super Bowl XXXIII in 1998.

Mr. Crockett’s business success includes serving as the president and CEO of South Florida Development & Investment Company, Guaranteed Enterprise Trucking Services, and Vanity Salon.

Along with his Brother Zack Crockett, the Crockett Foundation was launched in 2002 with the main goal of bolstering youth empowerment through impactful community engagements with signature events like a black-tie gala, golf tournament, and youth football camp, and the foundation’s annual Community Health Festival, which has become a staple event in promoting positive lifestyle choices and health education for local families.

“Now two decades later, the Crockett Foundation has provided countless children with the tools they need to succeed. Through a diverse roster of programming, the Crockett Foundation gives children an opportunity to change their realities,” he said. “Learning life skills outside the traditional classroom setting empowers our youth to forge a path out of the challenging situations they may find themselves in today – while always remembering where they came from.”

In his new role with the Orange Bowl, Mr. Crockett will help lead the nonprofit’s board of directors, officers, and over 420 members. as well as other sports and community programming under the Orange Bowl Cares umbrella throughout the year.

“It is an incredible honor to become the 87th President of the Orange Bowl Committee, an organization that has shaped my life both as a player and as a member of the South Florida community,” he said. “The opportunity to serve in this leadership capacity is an extension of my lifelong commitment to uplifting others, especially our youth, through sports, education, and mentorship. I’m excited to help lead this legacy into the future and create a lasting impact for our region.”
