More than 150 invited guests gathered on Brickell Avenue last week to salute 52 outstanding individuals who are featured in the 2025 Book of Leaders, which compiles a full year of the Achiever profiles that are a hallmark of Miami Today. It is the book’s 29th annual edition.

Business, civic, nonprofit and education leaders as well as officials of local, federal and global governments attended. Many present had been recognized as Achievers in past years and some will appear in future editions of the book.
They gathered in the 24th floor offices of Northern Trust Bank at 600 Brickell Ave. to congratulate this year’s honorees, whose portraits were being sequentially displayed overhead. Nearly 2,200 leaders have been recognized as Achievers by Miami Today since 1983.

In a brief program, Miami Today’s guests were greeted by Alexander Adams, president of Northern Trust for the South Florida Region. The organizations have over the years collaborated in community endeavors, including creation of the Brickell Avenue Literary Society and development of the Prologue Society.
Miami Today Publisher Michael Lewis and Vice President Carmen Betancourt-Lewis noted to the celebrating group that the news organization carefully curates those chosen as achievers for their impact on and service to the community.

Musicians from the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired, as they have in the past, provided the entertainment for the evening.
